Technology addresses the goal of EPA and Clean Air Act to harmonize the nation's carbon reduction policy
April 22, 2008 (Portland, Oregon) - To address global warming, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce energy consumption, Fortune 500 companies are looking to Bio·Reaction Industries (BRI) of Tualatin, Oregon. Bio·Reaction's biological filtration technology helps reduce hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) without increasing carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas precursors produced from industrial pollution control equipment.
Automotive, wood products, paint manufacturing and other companies are replacing thermal oxidizers with bio-oxidation systems, drastically reducing their natural gas consumption. For just one of Bio·Reaction's customers, replacing their thermal oxidizer with a bio-oxidation system eliminated 13.9 million BTUs of natural gas consumption per hour. By not combusting this natural gas to burn up pollution emissions, this equates to a cumulative reduction of 95,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions for all of Bio·Reaction's customers to date.
Bio·Reaction's air pollution management technology is in synch with the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) goal to harmonize the nation's carbon reduction policy with existing pollution emission regulations under the Clean Air Act (CAA). The goal of this harmonization is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve air quality without causing a new layer of compliance requirements.
"Bio·Reaction's systems provide the harmony between a carbon reduction policy and the CAA. Harmonization will greatly help to reduce greenhouse gases and help with national energy security", says Karl Mundorff, CEO of Bio·Reaction Industries.
Bio·Reaction Industries, LLC pioneered a new generation of environmentally friendly air pollution control systems that utilize microbes to digest industrial pollutants and odors. Based in Tualatin, Oregon, BRI's advanced bio-oxidation systems cost dramatically less than thermal oxidizers to operate, do not produce additional greenhouse gases (such as CO2, Nitrogen Oxide, and Sulfur Oxides), and deliver the highest removal efficiency of any air phase bio technology in the world.
