BioReaction Industries LLC, a maker of biofilters for volatile organic compound (VOC) and odor control, announced its winning of the 2007 EBJ silver medal for revenue growth of 267%.
[Portland, OR] During 2007, the firm signed a licensing agreement with Lenzing Teknik, a 1.1-billion-euro Austrian company, for sales of the company's products in the European Union. Domestically, Bio·Reaction has targeted the wood products market, addressing its need to meet regulatory standards for controlling greater than 90% of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) from presses and dryers. Bio·Reaction is meeting this need with a bio-oxidation system that, according to the company, is less expensive than a thermal oxidizer, saves the user up to 90% of the energy of a thermal oxidizer, and reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 80 to 85%.
Bio·Reaction says that the technology is being rapidly adopted not only by the wood products industry but also by the paint and coatings/automotive industry and the chemical industry
